Hmmm..... Think I shall put the streak of holiday songs on hold first. This will be the third instrumental piece on my blog. The piece is from the movie "No Reservations" starring Catherine Zeta Jones and Aaron Eckhart, one of my FAVOURITE MOVIE OF ALL TIMES!!! :D

I don't own the Soundtrack of this movie. Neither does the soundtrack contain this music piece! I had to resort to LOWDOWN & DESPICABLE MEANS that WONG MIN JIE, YEO YEELING, ERIC LEE & SOH LIANG YING ALWAYS RESORT TO IN ORDER TO GET THIS TRACK! :(

Gosh, I'm SO ASHAMED OF MYSELF. I ACTUALLY HAVE TO STOOP TO SUCH AN ABOMINABLE LEVEL :(

Had 擂茶(pounded tea) for breakfast and lunch today. I remember posting some photos regarding 擂茶 on a post sometime ago.

Anyway, let me introduce 擂茶 to you people :D

擂茶 is a hakka gruel which is a mixture nuts, grains, veggies, seeds and rice and tea (There are absolutely NO MEAT involved), which is the main ingredient of the whole dish. You can mix and match the formers, you can even exclude some of them. There is absolutely no rule if you can mix what type of veggies with what type of grains blih blih blah blah. However, the tea MUST BE PRESENT!! I call 擂茶 chinese cornflakes due to the nature of how it's being eaten, just dump everything in a bowl and fill it with milk. The same goes for 擂茶,just dump everything into a bowl and fill it up with the tea.

So, the ingredients that my mom use for 擂茶are as follows

Starting from the left (Clockwise): Rice, Basil leaves, Long Beans, Fried diced beancurd, cabbage

This is the tea. It's made of tea(My mom usually used Chinese tea or Green tea), CORIANDER (THE MOST DISGUSTING VEGGIE ON EARTH!!!), Basil, peanuts and sesame seeds. The tea is made by grinding/pounding the basil, coriander, peanuts and sesame seeds before cooking them in the tea. Hence it's called 擂茶(Pounded Tea).

I have a CRAZY FRIEND WHO LOVES CORIANDERS!!!

KOH FANG LING!! EEEWWW!!! How could you even EAT THAT THING???!!! URGH......*PUKES*

To start with, add in the ingredients to your liking

After you're done with the dry ingredients, it's time to add the tea

The amount of that required to be added should be just enough to cover the ingredients. Adding too much will result in you drinking the tea after you finish the dry stuff, which isn't very much to my liking, but it's up to individual anyway :D.

Next, mix it well, just like Pepper Lunch :)

Finally, LET'S EAT! :D
